Thyroid Screening Level (TSH)
This tests measures the levels of Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. This is the main hormone that tells your thyroid how hard to work. If the stimulating hormone is high, you thyroid is not working hard enough. A high TSH means low thyroid function. If this test is abnormal, a T4 can be ordered without a new blood draw. This is a blood test.
